Victoria Lantz Career Background
What is your biggest career achievement?
- My biggest career achievement is being promoted to my current role of Regional Property Manager by the age of 27. I began my multifamily career in 2015 as a part-time Leasing Agent for Campus Apartments while working towards my Bachelor's degree. After 2 short months of being immersed in a completely new industry, I was directly promoted to the full-time Sales Manager over a team of 3 Leasing Agents and 10 Resident Assistants. Six months later, I was promoted to a multisite Assistant Manager overseeing two demanding properties all while taking classes on my lunch breaks to complete my degree. Upon graduating, I decided to continue my career in the rental industry vs utilizing my degree in Nutritional Sciences as I realized that my strengths in leadership and problem solving would continue to open more and more opportunities for advancement.
In 2017, my husband and I made the lifechanging decision to relocate to Denver, Colorado to take on a new adventure together. In Colorado, I was a Community Support Administrator working hand in hand with senior leadership. In this role, I was exposed to both acquisitions and operations on a much larger scale. This role inspired me to pursue one day becoming a Regional Property Manager.
In 2019, I joined Lincoln Property Company as a Business Manager overseeing a 300 unit new acquisition. From the very start of my career with Lincoln, my intentions of working towards a Regional role were communicated. With the support of my peers and supervisors, I was promoted to Senior Business Manager and began working in a multisite capacity. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of different client strategies and operational goals. When an internal Regional Property Manager position opportunity arose, I was fortunate to be strongly considered and received the promotion I had spent years working towards - all by the age of 27 and as a full-time, working mom to my then 1-year-old son.
What is your ultimate career goal within the rental housing industry?
- My ultimate career goal is to never, ever stop learning and seeking personal development. As a leader, I believe it is crucially important to always be open to new ideas and to be the best version of yourself for both your team and your company. I’m known as someone that is always asking questions, constantly trying to find ways to streamline processes, searching for ideas to make people’s jobs easier, and looking to better both myself and my team. Throughout my career, I’ve learned how to tactfully ask the hard “why” questions when needed in order to identify the core of the issue and work towards well-rounded solutions.
By continuing with this mindset, I am also working towards a VP role within the next 10 years and becoming a go-to leader in Colorado’s multifamily industry. I’m excited to continue working towards this long-term goal as it plays to both my strength of team leadership and enthusiasm for new business development. With everything I’ve accomplished thus far, I know that maintaining my passion for people and dedication to continually seeking to understand will take me far!
What's one rental housing trend you have your eye on?
- The next generation of CRM & lead management software will be a game-changer in our industry. Optimized and reformatted CRM platforms such as Knock, give our on-site teams more efficient tools than days past while also providing the most enjoyable leasing experience for renters.
Lead management softwares are easily bogged down with heavy queues, confusion on what lead belongs to who, and so many sections or tabs that sometimes it's hard to know where to even begin.
Forward-thinking CRM platforms are solving all of these problems and more by centralizing lead management data to one simple dashboard, optimizing task management in a clear and concise manner, and allowing for better team oversight by managers to give credit to high performers and provide additional support when needed.
On-site teams spend countless hours within their CRM platforms converting leads into leases which is our bread and butter of our industry, this is why the focus to optimize this is so important. Organizations that recognize this and take the time to streamline and update their CRM platforms will stand out among the rest as their teams will be more efficient which will foster happier workplaces as well as greatly improving their buyers' journey and visitor experience.
