Vanessa Grayson Career Background
What is your biggest career achievement?
- To date, my biggest career achievement was being recognized as one of the Institute of Real Estate Management's 30 Under 30 recipients in 2020. This moment defined everything that I had worked so hard to achieve during my 6 years in the industry, but furthermore, it ignited a whole new fire in me to continue being better than the person and leader I was the day before. It challenged me to keep working hard to shatter my glass ceiling but also helped me realize I was just scratching the service of my fullest potential.
What is your ultimate career goal within the rental housing industry?
- My ultimate career goal within the rental housing industry is to become a specialist for multifamily lease up assets. Within my role I would offer support to incoming teams on how to create an environment for success through specific lease up training, role knowledge, marketing, vendor set up and management and relationship building, just to name a few. Having been on several successful lease up projects myself, this is where I thrive and my passion for being a leader would shine very brightly in a setting like this.
What's one rental housing trend you have your eye on?
- Throughout the years, social media has a proven track record of being a successful measure to generate information quickly and to set specific trends within any industry or market. I truly believe social media will continue to produce adequate results in terms of communication and product knowledge within the rental housing industry. With it being so accessible via our phones and laptops, and appearing to be something that's checked multiple times a day by everyone that has it, transfer of information comes with ease. This is and will continue to be the most simplistic and effective immediate outlet of communication that we have access to. I foresee organizations utilizing this trend not only on the site level with posts of product, resident relation posts, and engagement posts for branding awareness, but on a corporate level when it comes to employee relations and presentation to competing companies and potential clients.
