Tatiana Dwight Career Background
What is your biggest career achievement?
- My biggest career achievement has been assisting Fogelman with developing an Associate Retention Program and a formal Recruiting Process. Within the last two years, I have helped put into place Associate Recognition Programs such as Business Manager Appreciation Day, Love on Leasing Week, Assistant Manager Day, Maintenance Appreciation Week and a Holiday Luncheon/ Party. Branding wise, I helped Fogelman become “The Place to Work” in the industry. I created a company page on LinkedIn & Indeed and shared all the fun things we did with our associates. I also managed our Fogelman LinkedIn and Instagram page. People know the company name now and want to work for us. I also was able to get associates involved with the Apartment Association Events & IREM GA. In 2018, I was nominated for the Exceptional Corporate Team Member Award. Although, I did not win, this was still an honor in my eyes and reflects all of my hard work. Our associates seem to be enjoying where they work as we have been awarded a Top Workplace in Atlanta for the 3rd year in a row!
What is your ultimate career goal within the rental housing industry?
- My ultimate career goal within in the rental housing industry is to be become a Director of People. I would love to manage a team of recruiters one day and create different ways to keep our associates engaged and ultimately stay long term! I would also love to partner with NAA & the Apartment Apartment Association to do classes on Employee Engagement & Recruiting the right people for the jobs.
What's one rental housing trend you have your eye on?
- An emerging trend in the rental housing industry that is related to my role is Swift Bunny's Employee Engagement Survey Tool. I first learned about this system at the Innovate Conference in 2019 and then attended a luncheon that Swift Bunny held about their system. It basically sends out 4 surveys a year to associates and tracks turn over and employee engagement. The system surveys the New Hire experience, First Week onsite, On boarding and an Exit Survey. Companies spend so much money on recruiting and filling positions. This tool will allow upper management to retain and keep employees engaged or figuring out ways they can improve their culture. By cracking the code of employee disengagement you will: Increase customer and employee satisfaction; Increase productivity and profits; Increase retention; Decrease quality defects and safety incidents; Decrease absenteeism.
